Frequently Asked Questions About Mental Health Therapy in Chicago, IL

Who knew when you started googling find a therapist near me that you would’ve find so many options, and be left with SO many questions? I am here to help!

 
  • Counseling sessions typically last for 50 minutes. We usually meet for 30-40 weekly sessions (8-10 months). Then we would transition to meeting bi-weekly to eventually terminatin therapy. I don’t want you to be in therapy forever!

  • When we meet for our first session, we will review the consent forms, payment of sessions, and why you are seeking services.

  • For 50-minute individual sessions, it will cost $210 out of pocket, while for a 50-minute couples’ session, it will cost $220. I understand that therapy is an investment in your well-being, and I am committed to providing high-quality care. If you have insurance, I can help you navigate your benefits to see if any coverage is available. Additionally, please feel free to discuss any financial concerns with me, as I want to ensure that therapy is accessible for those who need it.

  • Monday through Thursday at 3 p.m. is my latest available time slot. I do not have weekend appointments available.

  • All sessions are virtual and the links on Zoom will be recurring. You can click on this link for more information.

  • Please let me know within 24-48 hours (or earlier) if you need to cancel or reschedule the appointment. You will be charged for the full session amount (Individuals: $210 or Couples: $220) if you do not provide notice.

    You will receive an email from me 5 minutes into our session. If I do not receive a response within 10 minutes, the late cancellation fee will be charged.

    If we run into 3 consecutive rescheduled or canceled sessions, we will need to discuss why that is occurring. Goodness of fit, trust, communication, and consistent meeting times are beneficial to seeing improvements and outcomes.

  • In my opinion, finding a therapist with whom you connect is crucial. We can talk about referral alternatives if we are not a good fit or your needs are out of my scope of practice. Know that it is NOT your fault if it does not work out. I only hope that you will find someone who you feel connected with.

  • Counseling creates a space for clients to come together to connect. If you and your partner are experiencing increased conflict or lack of understanding, it might be helpful to schedule an initial meeting to figure out how to address your concerns.

  • I help clients who are experiencing anxiety and relationship transitions build healthier boundaries and self-esteem. We integrate mindfulness and emotional regulation skills to create long-lasting change throughout your life. We also take a look at your work/life balance to figure out what is currently working and what needs to be improved upon.

  • I am In-Network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois PPO Preferred. If you would like to pay out-of-pocket, you can submit insurance reimbursement through the Reimbursify app.

  • I have partnered with Reimbursify, a platform that enables you to submit your out-of-network claims. You can check your benefits and calculate your co-pays, deductible, and eligibility using this link.
